Apu Jan – SS17

Hailing from Taiwan but now based in London, Apu Jan showed at Fashion Scout during fashion week, a simple elegant collection of the knowingly pared back proving the fact that chic line and cut mixed with great print or block colours will always produce the beautiful.

This was a collection that fitted with the things I love in design, elements carefully selected and then delivered with panache and a joy that brought the happy thought of the days of late spring and heady warm summer days into a cold September morning.

And can we just talk about the blues, very much a theme of the upcoming season, that are in this collection? It takes confidence to work with a colour that many think is cold yet deliver such exciting patterns and looks that are so wearable all the way through the months ahead.

Mixing the block colours with sharp detailed patterns lifts the whole look book from good into crafted statement.

Again we had a collection that winds from the full on awards season down to the every day wearable, so many of these pieces would fit with the suitcase to the dream vacation, and isn’t that after all what Spring/Summer should be about, jetting off to Greece or heading out to a garden party, no matter what the occasion this season, Apu Jan has got you covered.
