Support The Willows Foundation – Here Is How

The other day the lovely Beth from Beauty in Beta was looking for people to help publicise a charity event, so please take the time to read the post from her below. The Willow Foundation is an amazing charity doing incredible work, and having met Bob Wilson he turned out t be the loveliest man, taking the time to talk to us while he was on crutches a few years ago on a cold and wet day. The charity he founded in memory of his daughter has brought joy to so many, how could I not want to help . . .

Howdy lovelies,

Hope you’re all OK?

I recently started volunteering with the Willow Foundation, who are the only charity in the UK who arrange Special Days for seriously ill 16-40 year olds. Not only do they just offer support for the day, but it’s hope, happiness and support when it’s really needed. They’ve got an event coming up called the Will Of Iron triathlon and are looking for some great people to take part, or to help promote it. I thought, well I know some lovely people who could help out!

Ok, now for full disclosure this event is NOT for the faint hearted, but it’s something that can be completed as a group if you don’t fancy taking the whole thing on yourself. So, you can either complete the whole triathlon yourself, or you can split it into an event each, or you could have a massive team of 10 people and split it all between you. It’s completely up to you, but it just needs to be completed over seven consecutive days. Simples.

Also, it’s up to you if you would like to do your distances in the gym, or outdoors. You and your team could pick a discipline each (cycling, swimming or running), or you could all split the distances, it’s completely up to you how you do it.

You’re probably wondering

Event details and schedule

Start Date: May 2nd 2015

Entry fee: £25

  • Full Ironman Distance (2.4 mile swim / 112 mile bike / 26.2 mile run)

As part of team Willow you will be supported you every step of the way. So if this sounds like something you’d be interested in taking part in, then you can sign up below, or if you’ve got any other questions, please do leave it in the comments below and I’ll find out the answer for you!

We’re looking for bloggers to collaborate with, so if you’re looking to take part leave me a comment below, or if you wouldn’t mind blogging about it, and helping us promote it, then that would also be schweeetttt.

The Willow Foundation are a great charity, so if anyone fancies following their social media below that would be really great. Or, if you’re planning on doing a charity event soon, then if you could consider doing it for Willow then that would be extra awesome.
