Best Independent Labels – Promises Promises

Every so often a new label just pops into view. A couple of weeks ago I was at Hackney Flea Market and as I was browsing I can across someone hand making the most awesome and brilliant jewellery, and I literally mean hand making, sitting at the stall. I had to share Promises Promises with you.

Modern, chic and designed to suit a huge variety of outfits, the thing I picked up on and loved was that there is a touch of the Art Deco in the pieces. In a word that looks both forward and back, seeing items that are made with a little nod to the brilliance of our fashion past excites me. (also as a geek, I’m going to hedge a bet there is a hint of the structuralist about them, yes I should get out more)

That being said, these pieces are so of the moment they really stand out, and as hand made pieces from an independent designer, you know that you have something exclusive and beautiful at the same time. Using a mix of materials, working in combination really accents the form and shape.

So all in all, it was a great day out, I found some bargains, and a great new designer, so go and visit the website as you can pick up awesome things with prices starting under £10.

Look out for the Hackney Flea review coming soon.
