Best Independent Brands – Meng

Meng 2

Sometimes you find new labels through magazines, sometimes through adverts, sometimes through, TV or in the case of discovering Meng, through a friend.

You all know by now the things I love are chic, elegant or with a beautiful print, Meng have all of those and more. Beautiful flowing gowns that nod back to fashions history, but are also very modern and of the now. Using silk and the influence of Eastern style Meng have created a range that is not just fashion, but can be listed as art in a garment.

Meng see their garments as a canvas and that is evident in the hand drawn prints. Using print is a very hard to get right, yet they have found a way to work that balance out. As ever though we say don’t just listen to us, have a look for yourself, visit their website and facebook page, we will be adding them to our directory of labels.

About Ross Pollard

Since starting writing on my 31st birthday in 2011 I have held a number of positions at magazines and websites as well as regularly producing articles for numerous publications alongside contributing to TV & radio shows as a freelance fashion journalist including Hoxton Radio & Fashion One TV. Alongside writing, I have worked in other industries helping to design & grow digital platforms, develop businesses and support operations practices. This experience has proved invaluable in building an understanding of how businesses work, and the landscape in which retail, B2B commerce and other commercial operations develop. Knowledge of commercial interests has helped shape my fashion industry insights beyond critiquing of garments
