A Weekend In The City

City 1

I thought I’d share a bit about me and the things I get up to. I’m lucky enough to live right by the greatest city on earth. London has my heart and is part of my soul. There is something about the place that just weaves itself into your fibres.

BUT we are not tourists when I meet friends and do things, we are people for who the city isn’t an attraction, and destination, or a holiday, it’s where we play, grow, love, cry and have as a backdrop to our lives. With that in mind here are some things I have done lately.

Well of course a bit of shopping, last time was vintage, not just clothes but so many other bits and pieces while I was looking for a new suit.

After a bit of shopping its off to have dinner with a friend, I’m not giving away our location, lets just say it serves amazing Middle Eastern food and will be the subject of a review soon.

Then into Soho, where anything can happen and these days does less and less,I think I’ve had some good nights there, but there are only rolls of film to prove it, these days I don’t drink but I can tell you it’s still a great place to get a Virgin Cocktail, sit at a table and watch the world go by.

We wanted to go to The French House, it’s the pub that housed the French Government in exile, and was a watering hole of Brendan Behan, fashion fans will note it was a fave of Vogue legend John Deakin, but it was so packed we dived into Ku. Wonder what attracted my friend, drinks offers advertised by good looking men, yeah what caught her eye there, oh and its also the nearest bar.

Of course I should mention my huge passion in life sometimes draws me to wander and indulge, of course I mean art, from galleries, to pop up exhibits, to street art, London is a city that is art and supports art.

So there we go, a look into my London, and when it’s all a bit much I can be on the train and home in under an hour from the centre of the city to hang out with Mouse, my dog, he doesn’t like the city, he likes lying around, dog chews and belly rubs.
