Vintage or New?

Definitely vintage as I love wearing an item that is unique, well made and it is recycling at its best. I do mix my vintage with some new pieces but I am a vintage girl at heart.
Best place to shop?

Online from the privacy of my own home. It means I don’t have to get in a car, deal with surly shop assistants (not all are surly of course) or cope with bright lights in noisy, poky changing rooms. I love nothing more than a parcel arriving at my house with garments for me to try on at leisure.
Is fashion a part of our cultural heritage?

It certainly is and our financial one too. The fashion industry is worth £21billion to the UK economy every year and culturally we are the best in the world at designing innovative and interesting garments. Apart from the US I would say our vintage is culturally the best too – look at some of our past designers such as Ossie Clark, John Bates, Hardy Amies, Jean Muir and Mary Quant. Geniuses. All of them.
Fave piece of clothing/footwear you own?

My vintage cream lace wedding dress with its 7ft long vintage lace veil – plus as it was a winter wedding I wore a vintage cream fur wrap, vintage long grey silk gloves, vintage grey silk handbag and grey satin shoes.
Fave fashion quote?
“The only real elegance is in the mind; if you’ve got that, the rest really comes from it.” Diana Vreeland
